AVIC Releases 2018-2037 China Civil Aircraft Market Forecast

AVIC held a press conference to release its 2018-2037 China Civil Aircraft Market Forecast on the first day of Airshow China. The forecast projects Chinese civil aircraft market in the next 20 years, and also the civil aircraft market in the "Belt and Road" countries.
In 2017, China air transport industry continually enjoys fast and stable growth. China market has flow 550 million passengers and 7.05 million tons of goods, marking growth of 13% and 5.5% respectively based on . At the end of 2017, the Chinese air transport industry owns 3296 aircrafts, including 3148 passenger aircrafts and 148 cargo aircrafts, 346 more than last year.
It's estimated that the Chinese air transport market will keep going up stably from 2018 to 2037, with yearly 6.2% increase of passenger transportation, and 7.9% of cargo & mail. It's predicted that by the end of 2037, China civil aviation transport industry will operate 7286 passenger aircrafts (including 6235 large jetliners and 1051 regional jets) and 717 cargo aircrafts. In next 20 years, additional 6243 civilian passenger aircrafts are needed in China, including 5223 large jetliners and 1020 regional jets.
In 2017, "Belt and Road" countries’ air transport industry delivered approximately 960 million passengers and 1.7 trillion RPK, where 5997 passenger aircraft are in service, accounting for approx. 21% of the world. It's predicted that the fleet will be expanded to 14920 by the end of 2037, and additional 13061 passenger aircrafts, including 10995 narrow-body and widebody aircrafts and 2066 regional aircrafts, will be needed next 20 years in the areas along the "Belt and Road".
The forecast does not consider airlines based in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
